DigitalDNA is a blog dedicated to highlighting and discussing the changes in how and when we consume entertainment content.
The entertainment media landscape is changing super fast. How and where people consume content is a million miles away from what it was just 5 years ago. This is having a revolutionary effect on the entertainment industry: the big players are having to re-invent themselves, business models are being torn up, and all this while more and more content is available to more and more people in more and more different ways.
My name is David Maher Roberts. I have been involved in digital content for 10+ years. First as publisher of .net, .netDirectory and Connect back in 1997, then as Publishing Director of the first iteration of GamesRadar. I founded Future Plus – The Content Agency in 2003 (specialists in creation of branded content) and was New Media Director at Future for three years. I am now CEO of The Filter, a recommendation and relevance engine for digital entertainment content. The company is backed by Peter Gabriel and Eden Ventures and has a number of very interesting partnerships with the likes of NBC, DailyMotion and We7.
I have been joined by marketing guru Matt Woods and user experience expert Tim Tucker. Matt is founder of Thomas Jerome Newton – he has 10+ years of experience as a senior marketing chap within the entertainment industry – he oversaw the launch of BT Vision as Marketing Director amongst many other things. Tim is an expert consultant in usability and user experience. Prior to that he was Group Senior Editor at Future where he oversaw the web-isation of Future’s magazines and journalists and was responsible for developing a number of Future’s digital launches.
We’re hoping to sign up a few more contributors in the coming days/weeks. Watch this space… as they say.
